Retraction systems. No loop that keeps snagging.

A spring on the upper arm that pulls the protective hose back as the robot retracts, and releases it as it extends. That way there is never a loop in the cell and the hose wears less.

Retraction systems

Operation
Spring pulls excess hose back
Place
On the upper arm, behind the clamp on axis 3
Hose sizes
17 to 70 mm
Springs
In different lengths per hose size

When a robot extends, the package needs more length than when it retracts. Without a retraction system that extra length hangs as a loop beside the arm, where it hits the cell, the workpiece or the robot itself.

The retraction system works like a ring the hose runs through. A protective ring on the hose engages the spring: when the robot extends, it pulls hose out of the safe zone behind the robot; when it returns, the spring pushes the hose back again.

Reiku supplies three versions of spring holders. We choose the version and the spring based on the hose size, the length of the arm and the movements of your robot.

Where it sits on the robot

A dress pack consists of hose, holders per axis and a retraction system. The highlighted part shows where this component sits; the other components link on.

Why

What makes retraction systems strong

01No hanging loop
The hose stays close to the arm, in every position of the robot.
02Less wear
No hitting the cell or workpiece, no kinking on entry.
03Safe zone
Excess hose lies behind the robot, outside the working area.
04Fits in the system
On the same clamps and hoses as the rest of the dress pack.

How to choose

What to look out for when choosing

Not sure? Send us your details and we'll calculate it for you free of charge.

  1. 01Hose size

The version and spring follow the size of the protective hose.

  2. 02Movement of the arm

Lots of up and down movement? Then a tilting version or spherical shape.

  3. 03Difference in length

The spring length is determined by how much extra hose the robot needs.

  4. 04Space behind the robot

The retracted hose must be able to lie somewhere safe.
