Rotterdam, Antwerp and the Ruhr area are going to work more closely together on energy infrastructure and automated transport. That is good news for industry throughout the region.
Different requirements than in a machine hall
Behind every port crane, loading installation or shore power connection is a system that moves energy and data along with it, often over tens or hundreds of metres and in weather, wind and salt. The requirements there differ from those in a machine hall.
- Long travel lengths: the carrier glides over itself in a guide channel. The channel and the sliding surfaces determine the service life.
- Weather and salt: material and mounting must be resistant to corrosion and UV.
- Wind: the carrier must stay in the channel, even in strong winds.
- Heavy cable packages: power, data and sometimes hydraulics in one package, with the right layout.
From design to overhaul
Wisman Techniek supplies and maintains Tsubaki Kabelschlepp cable carriers for heavy-duty applications with long travel distances. We start with the design, overhaul where possible and replace where necessary.
For example, we supplied heavy TKHP cable carriers for the container cranes at ECT Euromax in Rotterdam, prepared in the workshop and installed within a tight time slot.
