This week IndustrieVandaag featured a sharp observation on OT security: a single piece of advice in five words can mean six months of work in a running factory. Maintenance windows are short and scarce.
The same applies to mechanical maintenance
Exactly the same applies to mechanical maintenance. Replacing a cable carrier during a planned shutdown only works if everything is ready: the right length, pre-assembled cables and fittings that fit.
Anyone who only discovers during the shutdown that the carrier is worn has a problem: parts still need to be ordered and the window has closed before they arrive.
How we prepare for a planned shutdown
- (01)Inspection well in advance: the condition of each carrier recorded, with photos and advice.
- (02)Record dimensions and type: length, inner dimensions, radius and mounting, so the new carrier fits exactly.
- (03)Prefabrication in Ruurlo: carrier and cables pre-assembled and tested, ready to install.
- (04)Installation during the shutdown: we install at the time you had already planned.
Inspect and prefabricate in advance
That is why Wisman Techniek prefers to inspect cable carriers well before the shutdown. This way we know what needs to be done and can prefabricate in advance, keeping downtime as short as possible.
